Week 4

The sun has been shining, and the Elms have been having a blast exploring a variety of holiday destinations. We've been discussing how we can travel for our holidays—whether by car, train, or plane, and the possibilities are endless!

We kicked off our rhyming week by playing corners in the garden. A cat, dog, bug, and ten were placed in different places in the garden, and the children had to recognise and go to the correct corner that rhymed. The children enjoyed running to the right picture and did so well recognising that 'Mat' rhymed with 'Cat', 'Dog' with 'Log', 'Mug' with 'Bug', etc.

In our Maths sessions, we have been focusing on positional language. We read the story 'Rosie's Walk,' which the children absolutely loved, and then we used the story to recreate our own game of putting the egg and Rosie on and under the nest. We then continued our learning by making a tower, in which I asked the children to place a block on, under, behind, or in front of other blocks.

 Have a lovely weekend
