Week 3

This week in maths we have been focusing on positional language. Our main focus was to understand position through words alone. We have used a box to understand in, on and under. The children have been putting items in the box, on top of the box and under the box. 

In phonics, we have continued our focus on rhyming but this week the children have been learning how to identify it independently. They have been able to identify the correct word that is wrong and that doesn’t rhyme with the other words out of a selection of picture cards. They have also paired words together that rhyme when they have all been muddled up. 

This week it was our groups turn to bake. We all worked together to to make the cake batter and ice the cupcakes. The children absolutely loved this! They worked together amazingly to make sure we followed all of the steps in the
