Week 1

This week in our Horse Chestnut Group we have been thinking about ‘What happens in Summer?’ for our Big Question. This involved us going on a Summer hunt and marking off on our check list when we found the green leaves on the trees, the grass, beautiful flowers growing and ladybirds.

In maths we learnt about 3D shapes, what their names are and the characteristics that they have. It wasn’t long before the children were finding cylinders, spheres, cubes and cuboids all over nursery! 

Lastly in phonics we concentrated on voice sounds and noticing what our mouths look like when we make sounds. We did this using mirrors and pulling very funny faces! 

What a busy but fun week we have had!
