Week 1

This week, we have been learning about Summer and what makes it different from the other seasons. The children went on a Summer hunt in the garden, marking off everything apart from a 'Bee'. I wonder if you could find one on your adventures at home. We were lucky to find a green shield beetle, which the children loved observing. Lizzy, the rhyming puppet, came to visit the children, but Lizzy, Wizzy felt a little dizzy. However, after some group rhyming, Lizzy started to feel much better. I think it was the cat, hat, and mat that did it. In our maths sessions, we have been exploring the concept of sequencing, firstly we talked about how we get dressed in the morning, what we did 'first' and so on, and then we discussed how our morning looked in nursery, what we do 'first' when we come into school using picture prompts to help the children.
