Week 1

Our first week back and it has certainly been a busy one!

 

We started off our week by introducing our new topic all about Summer! We looked at the four seasons and spoke about what we think we might see, hear and experience dring the summer months. We then went on a hunt in the garden to look for signs of summer. We saw green leaves on the tress, wildflowers, sunshine and even some fruit growing on our apple trees! In maths this week we have been looking at 3D shapes and comparing their properties to 2D shapes. We used our magic bag to turn our 2D shapes into 3D shapes and were shocked to see our circle turn into a sphere, triangle into a pyramid and square into a cube. We finished the week by sorting our flat 2D shapes into one pile and our solid 3D shapes into another pile. In phonics we have been listening to Fred as he tells us all about the busy week he has had. Tuning into his Fred talk to see if we can segment and blend the words to figure out what he is packing in his suitcase, what he would like to eat for dinner and what is in his toy box
